History of Dubai, United Arab Emirates history

Google

The History of Dubai starts when it was a small trading port at the mouth of a creek. The United Arab Emirates history however started on December 2, 1971. Dubai has rolling sand dunes, oases, valley and mountains in the east. The village really began to grow in the early 19th century mainly from pearl fishing and sea trade. It was then inhabited by the Bani Yas tribe.By the turn of the 20th century Dubai was a sufficiently prosperous port to attract settlersfrom Iran,India and Baluchistan. It was considered to be the largest coast with some 350 shops. This was enough to make Dubai a natural haven for merchants in its region.

In the 1990 the population of Dubai estimated 890.000, settled mostly in Dubai town, which left the oases a relax country side. These oases, which can be reached in 25 minutes from the town centerhave been extensively developed over the past years. Dubai's leading families live in this area in fine country houses and superb gardens which made visitors find it hard to believe that this is still Arabia.Along the southwest coast is the industrial complex of Jebel Ali, where you can find the largest man-made harbor in the world with its residential village of more then 300 houses.
