Shopping in Dubai is one of the main reasons tourists come to this Emirate. Dubai offers an annual shopping festival, many shopping malls and the world famous Gold Souk.

The Dubai Shopping Festival ( DSF) started in feb 1996 to promote trade in Dubai. This year the shopping festival will be from january 24 to february 24, 2008. Usually it is scheduled during the first quarter of the year.

Dubai has more than 40 shopping malls and centres, but if you are looking for a bargain then the souks (tradition open air markets) are the places to be. The Gold Souk is the reason Dubai is also known as The City Of Gold.
