In Burj Dubai is the Indian / Pakistani souk. The Gold Souk The Deira Gold Souk is the largest Gold Bazar in the world. For that reason Dubai is also known as "the City of Gold" Deira is separated from Burj Dubai by the Dubai Creek and lies on the right bank. You can get to the souk by bus, taxi or abra, a small boat across the Creek linking Deira and Bur Dubai. The free shuttle-buses from the many hotels all stop at the Gold Souk and will take you back to your hotel. The Deira Gold Souk has more than 300 shops in a half a square kilometre area.
